Fell in Love...

When I think about falling in love with someone I think of how we get as women and even men do just about the same things.

When we fall in love we:

• Think about them Day and Night.
• no matter what time it is we want to talk to them on the phone
• we want to spend all of our time with them
• we will ditch our friends and family to be with them
• we'll change ourselves from the personality to our looks
• we would change the way we talk and act especially if they dont like certain things we do
• our mind, soul, body and heart we're willing to give away
• we do WHATEVER we need to do to get to know them
• we would do anything to please them and make them happy

ect ect. you get the point.

I realized as I was thinking on the concept of falling in love with Jesus I saw that its about the same thing as falling in love with someone else. We sometimes make falling in love with Jesus this complex idea that we will NEVER understand. sometimes it seems out of reach and when I was beginning my journey with Christ a few years ago the scripture in revelation I never really understood because I wasnt in love with Jesus.

Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken your first love. - Rev 2:4 NIV

Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou has left thy first love. - Rev 2:4 KJV

There are many scriptures that talk about loving God with all you have but this scripture just had an affect on me and it made me think "what does it really mean to fall in love with Jesus?" I remember as i think back I felt bad at one point because i couldn't say that i was in love with Jesus. I mean I loved him...but my love was conditional.

I LOVE JESUS BUT NOT ENOUGH TO...

and that was my problem. Instead of doing what's right because I HAVE to I can now say I do whats right because I'm in love with my Lord and savior Jesus Christ! i also thought about how Jesus demonstrated his love for us. He hung on the cross while we were STILL sinners. His death was CRAAAZZYY! nails in his hands and feet, a crown of thorns pressed into his skull... If it wasn't for the LOVE he had for us; he was SO CRAZY IN LOVE (still is) with us that he would give his life for you and me. Love propelled him to do what he did. love is a powerful thing. I wanted to love God...I wanted to be soooo IN LOVE with Jesus.

Ways i fell in love with Jesus:

PRAYER:

Rejoice always, PRAY without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. - Thessalonians 5:16-18

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. - Philippians 4:6

Praying allows us to have a more intimate relationship with Christ. speaking to him regularly helps us to know his heart and his will for our lives. Through the vehicle of prayer we can get to know our God on a more intimate level. God desires to get close to us he desires a relationship with his people. If you don't talk to Jesus, how will you get to know him? How will you fall in love with your first love?

The Word Of God:

Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food. - Job 23:12

Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. - Psalms 119:11

I will delight myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy word. - Psalms 119:16

And I will delight myself in thy commandments, which I have loved. - Psalms 119:47

O how I love thy law! it is my meditation all the day - Psalms 119:97

Thy word is very pure: therefore they servant loveth it. - Psalms 119:140

There are so many scriptures about how we should love the word!! Job didn't have a bible like we do today he rested and had confidence in the word that God spoke to him that he would never leave him nor forsake him. Job also relied on his intimate relationship with God, that was all he had to stand on!! Spending time in his word is apart of spending time with him, the more time that is spent the more you get to know your savior! I promise you every day with Jesus gets sweeter and sweeter, there is always MORE to look forward to in God.

ISNT THAT EXCITING!!

So I encourage you to get intimate with God starting RIGHT NOW! Begin your prayer life just by talking to him, he LOVES hearing your voice. Read your word daily, meditate on the word, allow the word of God to bless you in ways you would have never imagined!!

The Voice of God

11. The Lord said "Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the Lord, for the Lord is about to pass by." Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. 12. After the earthquake came a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper. 13. When Elijah heard it, he pulled his cloak over his face and went out and stood at the mouth of the cave. Then a voice said to him, "What are you doing here Elijah?" - 1Kings 19:11-13

My youth pastor preached out of this scripture and a few others but this one stood out more to me. Because she went off topic or i didnt understand it i went home to review it and read it over and i feel like the Lord showed me something and I figured this can help you too.

I've been wanting to hear the voice of God for a long time now. I have questions and concerns that I need him to speak to me about. I just need answers. as i was reading all of chapter 19 the verses 11-13 jumped out at me and i focused on those three scriptures. As I began to meditate and re read the word it was like God dropped something into my mind. It was like he was saying: "I can speak in many ways there isnt only one way that i can speak to you. I can speak through people, music, visions, dreams, my word, and many other ways. you are looking for a 'show' you are focused so much on looking for 'the show' that you miss out on my whispers." now these werent his exact words but thats what i felt he was speaking to me.

it says in the word that there was a mighty wind that tore up the mountains, an earthquake, and a fire but in all those things God wasnt there. he didnt say anything. but then after all that a gentle whisper came and there was the Lord. Elijah was sooo focused on hearing God's voice that through all the the "Big Shows" he heard the whisper of God. he didnt miss out on God's gentle whisper. Keep your spiritual ears open at all times to hear God's gentle whispers, continue everyday to build that relationship with him to know his voice. He wants to speak to all of his children but if your not paying attention you just may miss out on your answers.

you have to have a heart that wants to hear from God. Seek his face and he will speak to you. Stay alert your answer to your prayers can be anywhere. ♥

Born in a Manger

While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. she wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.
LUKE 2:6-7

when i read this scripture at a church service i went to on Christmas Eve i couldnt help but think of how humble God was. he could've came with a horse and chariot and a purple robe or even born in an extravagant hospital room with the best of the best because he is the King of Kings.but no he was born in a dirty, cold, smelly manger where animals stay in. noone would've imagined the creator of the universe, God of all things, THE GREAT I AM to come in such a quiet humble way.
If Jesus can humble himself in such a way...why can't we? being prideful is displeasing to God. by being prideful you are saying that you're better than God that you know more than him. doesn't that sound crazy? pride is a character trait that is not of God so we shouldn't be carrying that around. the very first day Jesus came into this earth he taught us a lesson. to be humble and stay humble. God loves humility so every morning you wake up make sure to put on that "garment of humility".

Before a downfall the heart is haughty

but humility comes before honor.

I love this scripture! it reassures me everytime i read it that all i need to to do is focus on God and the rest will be taken care of! this is God letting us know that we can trust him with our problems. that if we make sure his buisness is being taken care of that he will make sure our buisness is taken care of! it also has A LOT to do with trusting God. i mean think about it. he's specifically asking us to take our eyes and our minds off of our worldy affairs and put them on him. its not an easy task; if i can be real i have failed at this time and time again where i have focused and worried about school, and finances. worrying about those things doesnt change anything it just makes things worst!*learned that the hard way*

when you begin to truley trust God you seek him no matter the situation no matter what's around you. you can seek God in prayer, in reading the word of God, and in meditating on the word. when you're seeking God your eyes and concentration is on God and not your worldly affairs. He knows what he asked you, he knows all your worries and troubles, he knows its a big sacrafice and its difficult to set our minds on things unseen! why would he ask you to do this if he isnt gonna take care of all of that extra stuff?that would be horrible right? BUT....
he SAYS:
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, AND ALL these things will be given to you as well.
when God SPEAKS every word that comes out of his mouth is truth...he's not a man that he should LIE. so if he says seek him FIRST and everything in your life will be taken care of then best believe that God meant what he said. God didnt say seek me and MOST/SOME/MAYBE/A LITTLE/ONE/TWO....NO God said ALL things will be given to you as well.

God is DOPE!

when you seek him first. your trusting him. when you trust him. things work out.

ITS BEEN A WHILE

SO BUSY!
school started about 5 weeks ago and ever since then i have been busy with school.=( seems like i can never take a "break" and even when i do..(like im doing now)..i get behind in my school work. sorry i havent been posting lately hopefully i will be able to post soon maybe thanksgiving break or something.
I havent forgotten about you guys!=)
